Wooden Flat Bat

Of all physical actions, 80% are initiated with the eyes. If the eyes are not aligned properly or are not as strong as they can be, the physical action may not be performed correctly.

Many mistakes, such as miss-hitting a baseball, dropping a pass in football, safety, and academic failures (i.e., reading and writing skills), can be attributed to visual defects. Some of these skills are achieved by improving the following:

  • Tracking: the ability to follow a moving object smoothly and accurately with both eyes, such as a ball in a flight or moving vehicles in traffic.
  • Depth perception: the ability to judge the relative distances of objects and to see and move accurately in three-dimensional space, such as when hitting a ball or parking a car.
  • Maintaining Attention: The ability to keep doing any particular skill or activity with ease without interfering with the performance of other skills.

Develop the Ability to:

  • Coordinate proper eye movements with the body.
  • Maintain concentration during an athletic event or performance.
  • Make quick and accurate decisions on and off the field or court.
  • Visualize yourself doing your sport or activity.
  • Pay attention to the coach's instructions during practice and game time.
